50th Anniversary Sister Margaret Traxler Awards Gala

Margaret’s Village 50th Anniversary Celebration – We Can’t Thank You Enough!

The season started joyfully at the Margaret’s Village 50th Anniversary Gala on October 9th, 2024 at the Union League Club of Chicago. More than 250 wonderful guests joined us to celebrate Sister Margaret’s legacy, and thanks to your incredible generosity, we reached our fundraising goal of $500,000!

Before the gala, our amazing Host Committee kicked things off by providing the initial funds to secure the historic venue for our special celebration. The talented designers and co-host committee chairs Lauren Ziol and Michelle Jolas from Skin Interior Design held a lovely pre-gala bash at the Golden Triangle, an art and antiques gallery.

Several weeks before the gala, an anonymous donor stepped up with a fantastic matching gift of $10,000, and during the event, an additional $5,000 was presented for the match. We were thrilled to see those gifts matched during the reception!

And let’s not forget the surprise from Metallica! During their M72 World Tour stop in Chicago this summer. The band generously donated $40,000 to support our mission.

We surpassed our goal thanks to all of you and your amazing contributions! This support will help us continue to provide shelter, food, and programs for our residents as they transition from homelessness to independent living. We can’t thank you enough!
