Herschella G. Conyers

Herschella G. Conyers is the Lillian E. Kramer Clinical Professor in Public Interest Law and the Director of the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic’s Criminal and Juvenile Justice Project. She has served as an assistant public defender, supervisor, and deputy chief in the Office of the Cook County Public Defender. A native of the South Side of Chicago, she is actively engaged in criminal and juvenile justice policy, both locally and nationally.

Jeffery Beckham Jr.

Jeffery Beckham Jr. is a community leader, artist, and tech-entrepreneur known for advancing the fight for equity for youth and marginalized communities. He is CEO at Chicago Scholars, an organization that helps more than 5,000 first generation and low income students reach their dreams of pursuing a college education.

Dr. Saria Lofton

Dr. Saria Lofton

Dr. Saria Lofton is a health disparities nurse researcher at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the College of Nursing. She is deeply committed to research on health promotion in the Black community, locally and internationally. Her work has recently focused on understanding local food environments as essential in addressing chronic disease risk inequities for Black American youth and adults.

Chad Ruckauf

Chad Ruckauf is a program manager at Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago. His assistance to Margaret’s Village in securing skilled services to improve its building infrastructure and meet critical challenges has been indispensable. Rebuilding Together improves homes and neighborhoods of people in need so they may continue to live in warmth, safety and comfort.
